Recently, I have realized how out of the loop I've been RE: my industry. I used to be on top of what was being made, who was starring in it, which producers were developing projects, and since coming back to Texas...well, honestly, I've gotten lazy. After some research, I've found some pretty interesting projects that are currently being filmed or finished, so keep an eye out for...
Cowboys & Aliens
Dir: Jon Favreau, Writer: Damon Lindelof (of Lost), Producers: Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Starring: Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano
Plot: In Silver City, Arizona, Apache Indians and Western settlers must lay their differences aside when an alien spaceship crash lands in their city. (Doesn't sound fantastic, but with those names behind it...I'm guessin' its pretty bad ass)
The Social Network

Dir: David Fincher (of Fight Club, Ben Button, Se7en), Writer: Aaron Sorkin (of West Wing), Producer: Dana Brunetti, Kevin Spacey, Scott Rudin, Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Rashida JonesPlot: uhh, duh. It's the story of how Facebook came to be. More dramatic, and serious...focusing on Zuckerberg and the other creators (from the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich)

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
(Poster from Swedish film, which is in theatres now)Dir: David Fincher (see above), Writer: based on the novel by Larsson, screenplay: Steven Zaillian (Schindler's List, Mission Impossible, American Gangster), Producer: Scott Rudin, Starring: Carey Mulligan, Daniel Craig, George Clooney (rumored)
Plot: Based on the ever popular book series...I need to get reading.
Horrible Bosses
Dir: Seth Gordon, Writer: Michael Markowitz, Producer: Brett Ratner, Starring: Kevin Spacey, Jaime Foxx, Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Colin Farrell
Plot: Three friends conspire to murder their awful bosses when they realize they are standing in the way of their happiness. (one guess which side Bateman and Spacey fall on...character wise).
Nick Cassavetes (Entourage reminded me how much I love everything he does...from the Notebook to AlphaDog, this guy knows his shit):
Atlas Shrugged: He isn't directing this (Paul Johansson from One Tree Hill and Notebook is), so not sure how it will come out, but its an amazing and iconic book...so it could surprise us.
Yellow: Starring Heather Wahlquist (Aunt Kelly in My Sister's Keeper), and only in pre production, but keep your eyes out for it...
All of the above are currently being filmed or in production, so we have to wait awhile. To tide you over, below are some that are closer to being in theatres:
Life as We Know It: not a huge Heigl fan, but this actually looks pretty heart felt and entertaining. PS its directed by Greg Berlanti (from Bros and Sis, Eli Stone, and DirtySexyMoney) October 8, 2010
The Green Hornet: check out a slimmed down Seth Rogan. Dir by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) Jan 14, 2011The Kids are All Rright: Welcome back Mark Ruffalo. July 9, 2010

Ramona and Beezus. Not sure how it will be, but I was a HUGE fan of the show growing up. July 23, 2010. (Also has John Corbett, who is just plain yummy).
Get Low: Dark Comedy...return of Robert Duvall, Billy Murray, and Sissy Spacek. July 30, 2010.
Hope you're looking forward to these now as much as I am:-) Enjoy!UPDATE: These are quickly moving to the top of the list as well
Gotta love Galifinakis ... the hilarious oddball is appearing in two side splitting films this fall:
Due Date: Galifinakis, Robert Downey Jr, and Jaime Foxx
Framed around a road trip...hilarity ensues...due out in November
It's Kinda a Funny Story: Emma Roberts, Lauren Graham, Viola Davis (and Galifinakis) are patients or employees in a mental ward...hilarity and warm-fuzzy feelings ensue. Releases September 24
